CRS is working with ACWECA (Association of Consecrated Women in East and Central Africa) to implement social and behavior change programming to care for the mothers so that they then can care for their families. CRS is strengthening the capacity of the sisters to implement maternal mental wellbeing programming as well as programming focusing on teaching mothers about early childhood development. The mothers learn about proper nutrition, hygiene practices, and parenting behaviors. This 4-year project (Oct 2017-Sept 2021), Strengthening the Capacity of Women Religious in Early Childhood Development (SCORE-ECD) Phase II is a funded by Conrad N. Hilton Foundation (CNHF) with an overall goal of ensuring that children under two years in Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania thrive in a sustainable culture of care and support.
